Zoho has two CRM products aimed at different audiences: Zoho CRM, their flagship platform, and Zoho Bigin, a simpler pipeline-focused tool designed specifically for small businesses.
Both are good products. But choosing the wrong one wastes either money or capability.
What Is Zoho Bigin?
Bigin is a lightweight, affordable CRM built for small teams transitioning away from spreadsheets. It focuses on pipeline management with a simple card-based view. It's quick to set up, easy to learn, and very affordable — starting at just a few hundred rupees per user per month.
What Is Zoho CRM?
Zoho CRM is a full-featured CRM platform with advanced automation, AI-powered insights, custom modules, multi-pipeline management, territory management, and deep integrations. It's suitable for businesses of any size but particularly powerful for teams with complex sales processes.
Key Differences
Customization
Bigin has limited customization — you get a few standard pipelines and basic fields. Zoho CRM allows you to create fully custom modules, fields, layouts and views for your specific industry and workflow.
Automation
Bigin handles simple automations like task creation and email alerts. Zoho CRM has a full workflow engine, blueprints, approval processes and Zoho Flow integrations for complex, multi-step automations.
Reporting
Bigin gives you basic pipeline reports. Zoho CRM integrates with Zoho Analytics for custom dashboards, forecasting and in-depth sales analytics.
Integrations
Both integrate with Zoho's ecosystem. But Zoho CRM has far more third-party integrations including WhatsApp Business API, IndiaMART, Google Workspace, and hundreds of others.
✅ Choose Bigin If:
- You have fewer than 5 users
- Your sales process is simple (enquiry → quote → close)
- You want to get started quickly without much setup
- Budget is a primary constraint right now
✅ Choose Zoho CRM If:
- You have multiple teams or departments using the CRM
- You need custom fields or modules specific to your industry
- You want deep automation and workflow management
- You need WhatsApp or portal integrations
- You plan to scale beyond 10 users in the next year
Our Take
Most of our clients start on Bigin if they're a 2–3 person team wanting something simple. However, businesses with any real complexity — real estate agencies, trading companies, service firms — almost always need Zoho CRM within 6 months. If you're already at 5+ users or have a multi-step sales process, go straight to Zoho CRM.
The good news: migration from Bigin to Zoho CRM is straightforward because they share the same Zoho ecosystem.
